Helitrox
Helitrox is really just another name for entry-level Trimix. A Helitrox gas mixture is one in which:
- The oxygen content is no less than 21 percent.
- The helium content is no greater than 35 percent.
The Helitrox Diver course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to safely dive Helitrox gas mixtures as deep as 150 feet. It is the first step toward more advanced Trimix Diver ratings and deeper depths.
The course generally takes at least two days and four dives. You can sign up in person, over the phone or online by clicking the button below. If you sign up online, you will still need to call to schedule your class.

Helitrox is really just another name for entry-level Trimix. A Helitrox gas mixture is one in which:
- The oxygen content is no less than 21 percent.
- The helium content is no greater than 35 percent.
Using nonnarcotic helium to dilute the nitrogen content of a gas mixture is the only safe way to reduce the effects of narcosis at depth. Doing so, however, comes at a cost.
- Helium ingases and outgases two and a half times faster than nitrogen does. This results in different decompression schedules.
- Helium is expensive and, in some parts of the world, hard to come by.
