Instructor Evaluation

This is the final step in the instructor training and evaluation process. Over the course of two days, candidates are evaluated on a wide variety of knowledge, skills and abilities
Successful candidates become fully certified Open Water Instructors and may teach classes ranging from Scuba Discovery through Divemaster, as well as several Specialty Diver courses.
You can sign up in person, over the phone or online by clicking the button below. If you sign up online, you will still need to call to schedule your class.
This program generally takes two full days.
- Have successfully complete and IDC within the past six months.
- Obtain a physician’s approval for diving within the past twelve months.
$1,450/person includes:
- All evaluation activities
- All instructor registration and membership fees
You supply:
- Mask and snorkel
- Adjustable scuba fins and wetsuit boots
- Adequate exposure protection
- Cylinder (one per dive)
- Regulator system with alternate air source
- BC with integrated weight system or weight belt
- Weights
- Dive computer
- Underwater compass
- Dive knife/cutting tool
- Dive light
- SMB
Students are also responsible for gas fills and boat fees or dive site admission.
This is the final step in the instructor training and evaluation process. Over the course of two days, candidates are evaluated on their:
- Knowledge of diving physics, physiology, environment and equipment, as well as their understanding of Standards and Procedures.
- Ability to organize and conduct teaching presentations in the classroom, pool and open water.
- Ability to conduct complete confined- and open-water training sessions.
- Ability to conduct unconscious/nonbreathing diver rescues.
