Divemaster

This is the first step in the leadership training process. Successful Divemaster candidates are able to:
- Assist with diver training courses.
- Conduct guided dives for certified divers.
- Supervise certified diver activities.
- Obtain professional liability insurance.
- Enroll in instructor training.
To achieve this rating, candidates must complete an extremely comprehensive Certification processing when earned program and extensive internship requirements. This can take a while.
You can sign up in person, over the phone or online by clicking the button below. If you sign up online, you will still need to call to schedule your class.
There is no specified time frame for completing the internship requirements. It does, however, take a while. In other words, you have to earn it.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Advanced Diver certification or equivalent; must include verifiable experience in deep, navigation, night, and limited visibility specialties
- Rescue Diver certification or equivalent
- Current CPR, first aid and oxygen provider certification
- Provided proof of at least 40 logged dives
$1,779.95/person includes:
- All instruction

You supply:
- Mask and snorkel
- Adjustable scuba fins and wetsuit boots
- Adequate exposure protection
- Cylinder (one per dive)
- Regulator system with alternate air source
- BC with integrated weight system or weight belt
- Weights
- Dive computer
- Underwater compass
- Dive knife/cutting tool
- Dive light
- SMB
Students are also responsible for gas fills and boat fees or dive site admission.

The process of becoming a Divemaster involves two things. These are:
- Complete the Divemaster Certification processing when earned course: This is an extremely comprehensive program not only covering all basic Divemaster skills, but also the understanding of diving physics, physiology, environment and equipment required of instructors.
- Complete the Divemaster internship- requirements: This involves assisting with classes at several levels as well as conducting guided dives under supervision.
At Aquatic Ventures, we can take you from no certification at all, to Divemaster at a greatly reduced rate. Because, when you are available, you will be working in the shop with us. In the process you will learn:
- The theory of gas blending
- How to fill tanks
- Basic equipment repair
- Equipment sales and customer interaction
You will become completely familiar with all aspects of day-to-day dive center operations. As an intern, you will obtain your certifications at what is essentially dealer pricing.
