Deep Diving

Once depths exceed 60 feet, things change.
- Gas consumption increases.
- Available no-decompression time decreases.
- Ambient light decreases.
- Colors fade.
- Narcosis becomes a real issue.
Dealing with these challenges is what we cover in this course. It generally takes just a single day and two dives. You can sign up in person, over the phone or online by clicking the button below. If you sign up online, you will still need to call to schedule your class.
This program generally takes just two days. With sufficient notice, we can usually offer this course when it’s most convenient for you.

Nothing you learned in your entry-level scuba course can prepare you for this. The Deep Diver course can.
When diving deep, dive planning takes on even greater importance. You will have less time to make decisions and less time to deal with problems. Having a solid dive plan and following it can help.
These are among the many topics and skills covered in the Deep Diver course.
In this course, the skills we cover include:
Dive 1
- Prepare a detailed deep diving plan
- Claculate minimum gas reserve (MGR)
- Calculate usable gas
- Demonstrate situational awarenes
- Dive plan (do not exceed 100 feet)
- Ascent with deep stop at 50 feet for one minute
- Simulate emergency decompression for five minutes
- Debrief dive according to dive plan
Dive 2
- Prepare a detailed deep diving plan
- Claculate minimum gas reserve (MGR)
- Calculate usable gas
- Dive plan and do not exceed 135 feet
- Nitrogen narcoss check and procedures
- Ascent with deep stop at 50 feet for one minute
- Simulate emergency decompression for ten minutes
- Deploy surface marker buoy (SMB)
- Debrief dive according to dive plan
Most importantly, we don’t practice these skills until you finally get them right. We have you repeat them until you can’t do them wrong.
