Decompression Procedures

Among the things that distinguish tech diving from recreational diving is the fact tech divers routinely do something sport divers never do. That’s decompress.
The Deco Procedures course prepares divers to make dives as deep as 150 feet using pure oxygen or an oxygen-rich gas mixture for decompression. Most students take it in tandem with the Advanced Nitrox Diver course. The course entails a minimum of two days and four dives.

Among the things that distinguish tech diving from recreational diving is the fact tech divers routinely do something sport divers never do. That’s decompress.
Decompression diving entails risks not present in no-decompression diving. These include:
- Increased risk of decompression sickness (DCS).
- The risk of running out of gas before deco is complete.
Managing these risks entails carrying more gas, using special decompression mixtures and vastly more extensive dive planning. These are things you can’t figure out on your own. You need special training. The Decompression Procedures course provides this.
