The dive site

The exact wrecks we will dive and the order in which we dive them will depend on a variety of factors. A typical itinerary might include:

  • The south end of the Wreck Trek is the tugboat Jay Scutti. For the first dive, we would tie off to the next vessel in line, the Ken Vitale, a 131-foot cargo vessel. Just north of this is the Merci Jesus.
  • For the second dive, we would typically off to the last vessel in line, the 95-foot Coast Guard cutter Robert Edminster. Several smaller vessels surround these four larger wrecks. You can easily swim from one wreck to the next.

The diving

Wreck Trek depths max out at around 80 feet. Currents can vary but are generally mild. This site is a good place to take part in Advanced and/or Wreck Diver training.

As with most artificial reefs, the wrecks are home to large numbers of fish representing a variety of species. Bring a camera.
