This 165-foot steel ship is five miles North of Government Cut. The Tortuga is upright in 115 feet of water with the deck at about 90 feet. Large openings make this wreck fairly easy to penetrate. You can explore the wheelhouse and the twin propellers are intact. There is a good amount of growth and abundant marine life. Divers report spotting Boxfish, Snapper, and Barracuda.

The diving
Due to the depths, Advanced Diver certification is essential. There is almost always some current.
Following the Tortuga dives, you will make a 60- to 90-foot drift dive along the Pink Floyd Wall. (You “won’t need no education,” though.)
Data and Times
The trip date is Saturday, February 5, 2022. The boat leaves the dock at 8:00 am and returns around noon. Drive time from the shop is approximately one hour and 40 minutes. You must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to departure.
